Bastogne owes its excellent reputation to its remembrance tourism, recently strengthened with the opening of the Bastogne War Rooms, which immerse visitors in an authentic American headquarters during the Battle of the Bulge.

Bastogne’s 200 shops in the town centre, open even on Sundays, its unspoilt environment and many events further enhance its appeal.

Mayor Benoît Lutgen is keen to ensure that sports are a part of Bastogne’s pride. Events punctuate the seasons, and this year, the town will be fortunate to welcome the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

As for the unmissable Liège-Bastogne-Liège classic, «La Doyenne» has been making a U-turn in Bastogne for ages. For the eighth year running, the start of the women’s race will take place in Bastogne. This year, the start will come after the men’s race to give greater recognition to these outstanding cyclists. The city is hosting family events in the town centre, which will be pedestrian-only for the occasion. It’s a great way to share your passion for the sport.
