A city of history recognised worldwide for its major role during the Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne has established itself as a key place of remembrance. Today, it is also a dynamic, attractive city that is firmly focused on the future.
A vibrant and welcoming city
Ranked among the most dynamic town centres in Wallonia, Bastogne stands out for the vitality of its urban heart. With its many shops, a particularly strong HoReCa sector and a diverse offering, it provides a lively and welcoming environment appreciated by both residents and the many visitors who discover it each year.
A land of events and cycling
Throughout the year, Bastogne hosts numerous major events. Among them, the famous classic “Liège–Bastogne–Liège” is a key highlight. For more than a century, Bastogne has been an essential stage town of “La Doyenne” for the men’s race and, for the tenth consecutive year, the starting point of the women’s event.
A shared sense of pride
Beyond the competition, the whole city comes together, led by its mayor Benoît Lutgen, to share a special moment of conviviality and sporting passion. Bastogne is delighted and proud to be a partner of this great event!
