The young Doyenne broadens its horizons

Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes is reaching its fourth Spring and can already claim to have brought epic racing between today's greatest champions on some of the most iconic roads of cycling history. The feminine Doyenne returns to the ardent city with a finish line set in the boulevard d'Avroy, where Annemiek van Vleuten claimed victory in 2019 after a trademark one-woman-show to become the first champion to join Anna van der Breggen in the record books (Van der Breggen had won the first two editions in Ans).

With this fourth edition, Van der Breggen and the classic experts will face an unprecedented challenge for them with the introduction of a climb the cycling lovers are very familiar with: the côte de la Haute-Levée, a classic in Liège-Bastogne-Liège Hommes, comes in between the ascents of Wanne and la Vecquée as the routes of the two races come closer.

With other climbs such as the côte de La Redoute, where Van Vleuten went away in 2019, and the côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons, the race is bound to crown a unique cyclist. The first three editions have been dominated by future World Champions. Let's see who will have the legs to follow the path traced by the Dutch queens in the ardent city.
