Bastogne is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, in which it played a pivotal role. The town has become a focal point for memorial tourism, as evidenced by the blooming success of the Bastogne War Museum, a leading World War II museum. Its vibrant businesses, with 300 shops open on Sundays, tourist attractions, unspoiled environment and local cuisine also make the reputation of Bastogne and boost its appeal year-round.

Bastogne is also a sporting town that hosts wildly popular events such as the Bastogne 20 km Race and Nuts Night Run (running), the Legend Boucles (motor sports), the European Quad Trophy and the Circuit des Ardennes (cycling).

However, the major sporting event held in our region is without a shadow of a doubt Liège–Bastogne–Liège, first with the men's race and now with the women's race as well, providing a windfall for the local economy.
